It's safe to say that RL from the '90s group Next, best known for their hits "Too Close" and "Wifey," didn't stash any money away for a rainy day.
According to legal documents filed in Georgia, the singer, born Robert Lavelle Huggar, is so broke, he filed for bankruptcy with only $50 cash to his name. RL's debts include $6000 in back child support, $49,000 in back taxes and $61,000 on his American Express. He has just $3500 in assets, which include a computer, recording equipment and a bedroom set. His filing says he made $5,000 in 2013 and zero income for 2011 and 2012.
The judge handing the case ended up closing the case and wiping RL's debt clear since he had no assets that could be sold off to pay back the creditors. Of course, taxes can't be dismissed in a bankruptcy, so he'll still have to work that one out.
The former Next member blames his debt on his his now deceased accountant, who he claims swindled him along with sever other celebrity clients.
