A small-town Mississippi high school has canceled its prom after the A-C-L-U demanded the school allow a female student to attend the prom in a tux and take her lesbian girlfriend as her date. In response to the cancelation, the A-C-L-U is suing the school and asking the court to force the Itawamba County School District to hold the prom and permit 18-year-old Constance McMillen to attend with her female date. It's Mississippi people. What the hell did you expect? They still have White & Black Proms in Oktibeha County. I know. I used to live there. I did everything I could to stop that B.S. |

I think this is kind of messed up.....
The prom is like a staple in your life........and to cancel the prom for everyone because they don't want lesbians at it is really ridiculous.

i feel people should be allowed to bring whoever they want to the prom. America system is backgrounds & its a shame that kids are raised to look at people who are gay differently. I think we should pay attention more to other things in this world besides gay people. What about sexual predators, kidnappers, & soon on. Gay aren't bothering anyone so I think people would start to focus on self they wouldn't have time to worry about what other people are doing. I don't like it when I see heterosexual couples grouping each other in public in front of children but thats perfectly fine. I say only God can judge & he sure didn't make Jesus Jr. So to all of you homophobic people I pray for you!!!

Oh and the school is right for cancelling, it was better to avoid the problems that would arise from allow the same sex couple to go. The aclu is wrong, they always wanna force stuff. Sexual orientation is a choice and they need to stop trying to compare to civil rights of the African Americans & minoritys in America. It's not the same fight. The aclu abuses the sytem all the time.

I feel having the freedom to be in a same sex relationship is for the person who decides to accept that type of behavoir, I also feel forcing others to be exposed to that behavoir is something same sex relationships should be tolerant of. Though accepted by many, parents want there children to not be exposed to those situations through tax payer school systems. I feel the aclu should not try to force every non moral issue on Americans, Good morals should not have to always be on trial. Nobody attacked her or expressed hate, it is just a behavoir parents dont want there children to be exposed too. In school systems what is best for the children and what parents request should be the most important issues. They have gay schools, I'm sure that is the place were it would be accepted for gay couples to go to underage school proms.

The school is right! A school has rules if you don't like it then dropout, but don't cause grief for your fellow students because you're trying to prove a point and do what you wanna do! The ACLU is a sham organization!
