Prince’s Reported Cause Of Death Released By Law Enforcement Official

According to a law enforcement official close to the investigation behind Prince’s death, the singer reportedly died of an opioid overdose. The Associated Press was the first to report the news, saying the official “spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.”

The Huffington Post has reached out to Prince’s rep for more details and confirmation. The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office told HuffPost they have yet to release official test results, saying, “We have no new information.”
