Earlier this week, Prince's sprawling Paisley Park residence was opened for public tours for the first time ever. The TODAY Show shared an exclusive sneak peek of what a fan can expect from entering into Prince's world earlier this week, including displays of the prolific artist's many instruments, elaborate outfits, and much more. According to Billboard, though, there appears to be one very special unexpected item on display for in honor of The Purple One: Prince's ashes inside an urn that was created in the shape of Paisley Park itself, located in the atrium of his home.
The 3D-printed ceramic and glass urn was reportedly designed by Prince's sister and nephew, Tyka and President Nelson, in collaboration with Foreverence, a company that specializes in crafting customized burial urns.
"Tyka Nelson hand‐selected seven iridescent crystals—representing the artist’s favorite number—to be part of the urn design and placed the final jewel in the piece herself," read a statement from Foreverence. The urn also features his signature purple Yamaha piano and white doves.
