A Greeley, Colorado elementary school recently forced a third-grader to remove his Peyton Manning Denver Broncos jersey because the number 18 is affiliated with a street gang.
The Greeley school district has a policy that bans any clothing with the number 18 on it because of the 18th Street Gang. The numbers 13 and 14, which affiliated with other gangs, and those numbers transposed as 31, 41 and 81 are also banned.
Eight-year-old Konnor Vanatta, who's been a fan of Manning since he was four, says he got the news from his school's principal that he wouldn't be allowed to wear the orange jersey his grandmother give him as a gift.
"It was my principal who said I had to take it off because we weren't allowed to wear it because it was a gang number." OC…gang number.
