MT. JULIET, Tenn. - Pediatrician Deborah Mark and her husband, Steven, both face charges in the death of their adopted daughter. They pleaded not guilty during a court appearance on Thursday.
An examination showed 4-year old Kairissa had bruises from head to toe. The couple was supposed to be in court last week, but that hearing got delayed and rescheduled for Thursday.
The state has already suspended Dr. Mark's Medical License. She no longer works at Centennial Pediatrics in Lebanon, where she was employed at the time of her daughter's death.
The Marks are free after posting bond. Their 8-year-old biological daughter remains in state custody. They are scheduled to be back in court in September
