PARKING GARAGE COLLAPSE: Worker Rescued After Legs Amputated

Shortly after midnight, rescuers saved the life of the (unnamed) construction worker trapped under the rubble of a collapsed parking garage. They saved him, but had to amputate both legs above the knee.

The 5-story Miami garage was under construction when it suddenly started to pancake. Two workers are confirmed dead. Ten were injured. Another is still missing, and doctors say the survivor is being treated in the hospital but is in "severe critical condition". Rescuers thought it would take days to extract him from the rubble without amputation
