NICHELLE NICHOLS: Star Trek Star Hospitalized

Star Trek star Nichelle Nichols was hospitalized Wednesday night after suffering a mild stroke.

A rep tells TMZ the 82-year-old actress is "awake and resting comfortably at an L.A. hospital." Doctors are said to be conducting tests to determine the severity of the stroke. This comes about three months after the Star Trek family lost Leonard Nimoy at age 83.

Nichelle played Lieutenant Uhura on the original Trek TV series and in six of the movies.
