New Center Helps Residents Pay Bills ....

Residents in Davidson County can take advantage of a new Metro Commission office in Nashville starting Thursday to pay some of their bills.

The agency said the new center will eliminate the amount of customers at its main site on Fifth Avenue North.

The new satellite location at the Susan Gray Head Start Center will offer assistance to Davidson County residents who need help with household bills like rent, mortgage and utilities.

Customers are eligible to receive assistance one time between July 1 and July 30, 2011.

Applicants must be a Davidson County resident, meet the federal income guidelines and other criteria in order to be approved for assistance.

Customer care hours at the main location is Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. The south Nashville location Monday through Thursday is from 8 a.m. until noon.

The centers will be closed July 5 in observance of Independence Day.
