Movie Producer Tony Scott Kills Himself :(

Director Tony Scott, best known for such films as Top Gun, Days of Thunder and Beverly Hills Cop II, jumped off a bridge to his death in Long Beach, California on Sunday. Scott, 68, was the younger brother of director Sir Ridley Scott, whose films include Alien,Blade Runner, Thelma & Louise and Gladiator. Local newspaper The Daily Breeze cites a Long Beach Coroner's Department report that Scott climbed a fence at around 12:30pm PT to get onto the Vincent Thomas Bridge and leaped off "without hesitation." A suicide note was found in his car nearby, a Coast Guard Lieutenant said.

According to a piece that ran this weekend at MovieHole.com, Scott was getting ready to direct Top Gun 2. The site reported that star Tom Cruise had been doing research for his role on Friday at a Naval Air Station Fallon in Nevada.
