While everybody knows that Jared guy who got into shape eating only Subway sandwiches, a Virginia woman swears another chain led to her shedding nearly 80 pounds: Starbucks.
Law librarian Christine Hall told NBC's Today that she steered away from the coffee giant's notoriously calorie-packed frappacinos and pasteries, and instead stuck to plain black coffee at five calories a pop and Starbucks' pre-made "bistro boxes" containing fruit, cheese, and peanut butter for lunch. She had one of the chain's paninis for dinner.
Even before she reached her goal weight, Hall managed to get into shape enough to fulfill a personal goal: donating a kidney in 2010, a year after she started her diet. All told, Starbucks' calorie-counted foods led the 5-foot, 4-inch woman to slim down from 190 to 114 pounds.
