"Moesha," "The Parkers" Star Yvette Wilson Dead at 48

Actress Yvette Wilson, best known for her role as Andell Wilkerson on the hit 90s sit-com Moesha and later its spinoff The Parkers, has died. She was 48.

The Los Angeles-born actress succumbed to cervical cancer after a variety of medical problems.  According to a website a href="http://www.giveforward.com/supportyvettewilson" target="_blank">http://www.giveforward.com/supportyvettewilson> created to meet her mounting medical bills, she also suffered from kidney failure. The site, started by friend Jeffrey Pittle, had raised half of the needed $25,000 for a kidney transplant and other medical bills at the time of her death.  Pittle confirmed Wilson's death to CNN, saying she passed away on Thursday.

Wilson began her career as a comedian, even appearing on Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam. She had also appeared in a number of films including House Party 3, Friday and Poetic Justice alongside Janet Jackson.

Shar Jackson, Wilson's co-star on Moesha and Kevin Federline's ex-girlfriend, tweeted,a href="https://twitter.com/#%21/sharjackson" target="_blank">https://twitter.com/#%21/sharjackson> "Oh god..... My heart is soooo unbelievably broken...god has chosen to take my sister Yvette home..."

This is sad. Cancer in any form is a beast! Every time I hear of someone dying of Cancer it hits home. Now to hear that they were raising money to pay her medical bills is terrible also. Why is this happening? I don't understand why financial planners have not reached out to the famous and athletes.
