Military To Investigate War Crimes In Fallujah, Iraq

The United States military is investigating a group of marines after photos showing them burning the bodies of Iraqi insurgents suddenly surfaced.

TMZ says it recently received 41 gruesome photos, presumably taken in 2004 in Fallujah, Iraq, showing American soldiers pouring gasoline on at least a dozen bodies and setting them on fire. Soldiers are also seen posing next to the charred remains. TMZ, which has posted a few of the photos online, says they turned them over to the Pentagon and there is now a Marine Corps investigation underway.

The actions of these soldiers is a crime according to the Uniform Code of Military Justice and those involved can be prosecuted even though the incident occurred nearly 10 years ago.
