Fellow judge Mel B felt insulted by Simon’s crack about comparing her honeymoon with a stunt act that failed. Demian Aditya was handcuffed in a wooden box far above flaming spikes. The judges seemed underwhelmed, especially because the apparatus suffered a “technical glitch.”
Simon said, (quote) “I’m kind of imagining this would be like Mel B's wedding night -- a lot of anticipation, not much promise or delivery.”
Mel B picked up her over-sized drink cup and tossed it onto Simon. She then stormed off the live TV show. Judge Heidi Klum followed in a show of support, or because she caught some of the drink meant for Simon. (People)
America’s Got Talent tweeted, (quote) “This is live TV, you guys. Anything can happen.”
As a reminder, Mel's marriage is a tender subject. She's in a bitter dispute with estranged husband Stephen Belafonte. He wants 40-grand per month in spousal support. That’s even after he allegedly abused Mel B, slept with the nanny and made sex tapes.
Say What:
Mel B credits Simon with convincing her to leave Belafonte. (TMZ)
It’s all good-natured ribbing between friends. Simon can be brutal, but Mel B dished it right back, then eventually returned to her seat.
Violence is never the answer. Like so many mothers say over-and-over, "Use your words."
There's more entertainment by the judges on these competition shows than what's happening on stage.
Just asking, how does a show called America's Got Talent allow four foreign judges? Howie Mandel was born in Canada. Heidi Klum in Germany, and both Simon and Mel B are British.
