MARY J. BLIGE: Pays Off Tax Debt

Mary J. Blige is $15,000 closer to getting out of trouble with the taxman.

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul made the payment to the state of New York within weeks of being informed there was a tax warrant out for the unpaid debt. She'd racked up the tab by not paying the full amount due on her 2013 personal income taxes. Now, the debt has been all but eliminated, with a remaining balance of just $127. But until she fully settles up, the state can still garnish Mary’s wages or seize her bank accounts to get the money owed.

Last year, the New Jersey Department of Taxation reportedly dismissed the star’s more than $900,000 in tax debt.  (Bossip)
