Mariah Carey, No Doubt to Rock NFL Kickoff Concert

Songs by Mariah Carey and No Doubt are not often sung in football stadiums, but both acts have been tapped to perform at the annual NFL kickoff concert.

Mariah and Gwen Stefani and the boys will perform live from New York City's Rockefeller Plaza before the New York Giants take on the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on September 5.  The performances will be part of the hour-long pregame show on NBC, which airs at 7:30 p.m. ET.

In a statement to the Associated Press, Mariah said that she was thrilled to be performing in her "hometown" of New York City and looks forward to making the new football season "even more festive." No Doubt drummer Adrian Young, a fan of the New Orleans Saints, tells the AP that the band is excited to take part in the event.  No Doubt was one of several acts performing during halftime of the Super Bowl in 2003.
