There are a lot of boxing fans who felt they got ripped off by the less-than-spectacular Mayweather-Pacquiao fight last weekend, and now that they know that Manny Pacquaio was fighting injured, they want their money back.
Two class-action suits have been filed, one in Nevada and one in California, alleging that Pacquiao, his manager and promoter Top Rank committed consumer fraud by not revealing the fighter's injury which will require surgery. The suits were filed on behalf of everyone who bought a ticket, paid for the Pay-Per-View broadcast, or gambled on the fight. Each suit is seeking $5 million. The promoter's lawyer says he is making a motion to dismiss the suits, calling them frivolous. (ESPN)
IJS:
Fight fans have every right to be angry.
A lot of people who bet on Pacquiao never would have bet on him had they known he was injured.
It seems every time there's a big boxing match, the entire sport suffers another black eye.
