MAN PAYS OFF $50,000 WORTH OF WALMART LAYAWAYS

Santa took a break from his workshop on Monday to deliver a green Christmas to some folks in Pennsylvania – by paying off $50,000 worth of charges for gifts at a Walmart layaway.

The jolly old (or middle aged) elf said he didn't want his name released, asking that he only be identified as "Santa B." He footed the bill for about 200 people who'd been saving up for gifts for loved ones, including a $200 tab for Tanisha Burton, who says that being able to give her daughter the toys she'd laid away was "a blessing and a surprise."

A Walmart spokesman granted that he's had "layaway angels" show up before, but never with this sort of gift. He said, "It's amazing to see the random acts of kindness that happen at the holidays." (Lehigh Valley Patriot News)
