Malik talks about his character being killed on Empire- VIDEO

 Vernon Turner got offed during the epic season finale of "Empire" and Malik Yoba told TMZ how he got the news his character was going to be the one to go.

Malik came on "TMZ Live" and laid out the painful moment Lee Daniels informed him his services would not be needed for Season 2 while Yoba was at a charity event in Missouri.

Malik adds the decision to kill off someone was the network's call but doesn’t know why his character was killed off.

Rumors have been going around the web that Malik got fired because of alleged drug use or because he supposedly accidently outed co-star Jussie Smollet. No evidence has come to light to prove either of these stories to be true.
