Local News- Overnight Violence In The City

1. A teenage girl was killed and another person injured after a shooting during some kind of altercation in north Nashville.

The incident happened around 8 p.m. last night along the 300 block of Gwynnwood Drive.

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said a group of girls were in a silver car and driving to meet up with another party.

When they arrived, a dark colored car pulled up and fired multiple shots at the silver car.

A 15-year-old passenger in the silver car was hit. She was driven to TriStar Skyline Medical Center for treatment, but died from her injures.

No arrests have been made. Police were looking for evidence that would lead them to the suspects.

2. Shots were fired near police after suspects allegedly threatened a news crew with a gun.

Authorities said a camera crew was approached on Archer Street while shooting video early this morning, and that's when they allegedly saw a man with a gun and felt threatened.

Police were called to the scene, and when they arrived the suspects fired shots near officers. According to authorities, no injuries were reported.

Officials said the suspects ran off, and descriptions were not available. Authorities believed they were looking for two people.

The suspects were believed to be armed and dangerous.

The investigation was ongoing. A perimeter was set up in the Rose Park area while police investigated and searched for the suspects.

3. Two people were taken to the hospital after a shooting and home invasion.

Authorities said the incident appeared to have been a targeted attack on Valeria Street.

Two men inside the home were shot multiple times, and both were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with one in critical condition.

Crime scene investigators were processing the scene this morning looking for bullet casings and other pieces of evidence from the shooting that happened around 2 a.m.

Police said three people were inside the home at the time when two men stormed inside.

At some point, the shooters pulled out a gun and started firing multiple times.

The third person in the home, a woman, was not injured.

The two suspects fled the scene. K9s were called in but they could not track the men down.

The only description police had was the two men were wearing hooded sweatshirts
