Two 16-year-old teens were injured just hours apart in two, separate shootings north of Nashville. The incidents were not immediately believed to be related.

The first shooting happened around 11 p.m. Wednesday, on 25th Ave and Dowlan Street, right across the street from the North police precinct.

Officials with Metro Police said the teen told authorities he was walking down the street when he heard several gunshots, some of which struck him. He was shot in the arm and once in the chest.

EMS crews rushed the victim to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he has non-life-threatening injuries.

Several of the bullet casings could be seen scattered around the crime scene.

At this point, police do not think the teen was targeted in the shooting. It appears to have been a random incident.

Detectives said they’re looking for three men who were seen speeding off from the scene in a dark-colored SUV.

The second shooting happened hours later near Delta Avenue and Garfield Street after an altercation among a group of people.

A friend of the victim was fighting with a third female, who at some point pulled out a gun. Police said her boyfriend took the gun away from her, as the victim and other person ran away.

As they were fleeing, the suspect’s boyfriend began shooting, striking the victim in the right foot. She was taken to an area hospital by private vehicle and treated for minor injuries.

There were no descriptions of those suspects. Police said they will face charges once they are arrested. WTVF
