24-year-old Preston Claybrooks, Jr. and his longtime girlfriend, 23-year-old Alexandra Grubbs were reported missing on September 24.
Saturday morning Claybrook’s mother went to the apartment where he was known to frequent. A smell was detected and the authorities were contacted. Detectives spent most of the day investigating the scene after the bodies were found around 2 a.m. Saturday under junk and debris in a large closet.
Officials said the evidence showed an extremely violent crime happened inside the apartment, followed by an attempted cleanup by the persons responsible.
Detectives want to question the leaseholder was 20-year-old Brandon Griswold, and Griswold’s girlfriend, 21-year-old Whitney Gray to see if they know anything about the incident. Neither has been named a suspect in the case.
They are possibly traveling in Gray’s 2009 Chevrolet Impala with an Oklahoma license plate number 261LPO.
Autopsies have been scheduled for Monday to determine the victims’ cause of death.
If you've seen either Griswold or Gray or have additional information on this crime, you're urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463 or the Emergency Communications Center at 615-862-8600.
