Police continues the search for the suspect in Thursday night’s fatal shooting.
Officials said the victim who was killed was believed to be a 19-year-old who was not a TSU student. That victim’s identity had not yet been released.
Two other victims, who police said were innocent passersby, were wounded and taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Both 18-year-old females have been treated and released from the hospital, according to officials.
A third person, an 18-year-old female, was grazed by a bullet and did not require medical treatment.
According to preliminary reports, the fight started over a dice game in the outside courtyard of the Floyd-Payne Campus Center.
Witnesses heard gunshots prompting the call to TSU police at 10:52 p.m. Thursday.
Authorities said several students allegedly recorded the fight on their cellphones, and they have urged those with images to share them with detectives.
A TSU spokesperson released the following statement about the campus:
"TSU will resume it's normal schedule of operation, including all activities. The University does not have scheduled classes on Friday. Classes are Monday through Thursday at the institution."- WTVF
