Lionel Richie Pays Over $1 million to IRS

Allegedly back in 2010 a tax lien was placed on Richie for back taxes totaling about $1.1 million dollars.

The former Commodore wrote a check for the past due amount and now everything is clear.

Many celebrities have gotten into alleged tax trouble over the years:

Ja Rule - $1 million - 2 years jail sentence

Wesley Snipes- $12 million - 3 year jail sentence

Dionne Warwick- $1 million

R. Kelly - $5 million

Lauryn Hill- $970,000 - 1 year jail sentence

Unlike some celebrities in recent news, Richie will not be going to jail.
