Lil Wayne has filed new legal documents in his $51 million lawsuit against Birdman, claiming that he’s not the only one affected by the mogul’s alleged financial mismanagement and failure to pay royalties.
Weezy says Nicki Minaj and Drake are both ready to leave Young Money for greener pastures. In addition to non-payment, the label head is accused of failing to keep accurate books and being unwilling or unable to show audits of those books to artists upon request.
Wayne says the mismanagement has gotten so bad that there are at least half a dozen artists and producers with their hands out in hopes they’ll get paid even a portion of the large sums of money they claim to be owed. (TMZ)
Say What:
Here are just some of the people who have alleged Birdman was unwilling to cut a check: Lil Wayne, Jas Prince, Turk, Bangladesh, Deezle, REO, Drew and Infamous, Wendy Day and basically any producer YMCMB has ever worked with.
This is Birdman’s business model and has been since he started out.
Will Drake, Nicki and Wayne still be close with one another if they wind up at different labels?
No word yet if invoking Nicki and Drake’s names means be upping his ask from $51 million.
Even if there’s a judgment made against him, you really think Birdman is dumb enough to keep all that money he stole on the books? Only person who’s ever getting paid off Young Money artists is Baby.
