After deliberating for about an hour, a Baton Rouge jury found Lil Boosie, who was born Torence Hatch, not guilty of murder. According to KSLA-TV, jurors determined that the rapper was not responsible for the 2009 killing of Terry Boyd.

On Friday, Boosie's website was updated with a smiling picture of Boosie and the post, "Thank you for justice!  This is a great man."

Hatch is currently serving an 8-year prison term for drug charges at Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola.

According to prosecutors, Michael Louding, who goes by the name "Marlo Mike," said Boosie had given him $2,800 to kill Boyd.  Though the prosecution cited Boosie lyrics as proof and called 27 witnesses, defense attorneys for Hatch rested their case Thursday afternoon without calling any witnesses.
