Laurence Fishburne's mother is facing eviction and is "hurt and disappointed.”

80-year-old Hattie Crawford Fishburne, a retired teacher, says she emptied her retirement savings so her only child could be a star -- but that he's nowhere to be found. She's so far behind on her $1500 monthly rent that she's facing eviction from her Los Angeles apartment today -- and the last time she spoke to her son was more than a year ago, when his father died.

Hattie tells the New York Post, “He’s gone Hollywood! For 20 years, I funded my son’s career. He promised me he would take care of me. He promised me a house, a golden retriever, a calico cat. To this day, I have not got a Christmas present or a ‘Thank you, Mama’ present. He hasn’t given me a penny."

Fishburne, who stars in and is the executive producer of the hit ABC sitcom Black-ish, has a estimated net worth of $20 million.

Quickies:

  •     First it was Tracey Morgan's mother and now Fishburne's is in the news facing eviction. Why aren't men taking care of their moms?
  •     You never know what kind of relationship they had, so don't be quick to judge.
  •     There is more to this story. We needs to hear Laurence's side.
