JACKO'S DAD PAYS TRIBUTE...TO HIMSELF

Michael Jackson's father has gotten tired of being one of the few people in his family with no awards -- so he's giving one to himself!

Joseph Jackson is going to be honored by The Jackson Family Foundation at an "exclusive celebrity event" in Cannes, France on Saturday -- a foundation that he created and runs all by himself. What a deal!

THIS AIN'T NO PARTY SCHOOL

If you think attending a Historically Black College and University will allow you to coast though school, think again. According to a list published by the Huffington Post, Atlanta's Morehouse College is one of the country's most grueling in terms of curriculum. Morehouse president Robert Franklin says, "We have really high expectations and strive to provide an ivy-league education with black college resources. We work to inspire our students to work hard and do their personal best. And it seems its paying off." Morehouse joins a list that includes school like MIT, Johns Hopkins, University of Chicago, Caltech and the U.S. Naval Academy.

SHOPPING SPREE ON TYLER PERRY

Tyler Perry is asking for fans help after someone swiped his credit card and ran up nearly $30,000 worth of items. Perry says on his website, "Some idiot stole my credit card number. Can you believe that? Take a look at all the stuff they charged. If you know any of these people, call the police." The items include a number of airline tickets, goods at Best Buy, Lowe's, movie tickets and clothing from online retailers.

CELEB CHEF IN MURDER FOR HIRE PLOT

A one-time Food Network host is being held on charges of soliciting three homeless men to murder his wife. Juan Carlos Cruz, who hosted Calorie Commando and Weighing In, allegedly offered $1,000 if the men would agree to slit his spouse's throat.

He gave the men halves of 10 $100 bills and promised to deliver the rest when the job was finished, but they chose to go to cops with the story instead. When he thought they were getting cold feet, Cruz texted that he had a second party ready for the job.

Cruz is currently being held on a $5 million bail stemming from a charge of solicitation to commit murder.

SEAN LEVERT - DISTURBING VIDEO FOOTAGE

Video surfaced last week of Sean Levert being restrained by officers at the Cleveland jail where he died. Levert -- the son of O'Jays legend Eddie Levert and younger brother of the late Gerald Levert -- screams "no" repeatedly throughout the three-minute clip. He appears to be calling for his mother and blaming someone for someone else's death.

The Levert family is suing the city of Cleveland, claiming that Sean didn't receive adequate medical attention while at the jail. Click here for video footage

BASKETBALL WIVES: Sticking Together

On last night's episode of Basketball Wives... Jen is still confused about her marriage. Suzie suggests she should start cheating. Gloria had a talk with her sister, Laura (who allegedly used to mess with Shaquille O'Neil), about her drama-filled relationship with the other wives. Gloria said that she never wants to be angry and bitter like them. Jen scouted and found a perfect location for her Project Save the World event to raise funds for Haiti. On the night of the event, she worried that no one was going to show since not many RSVP-ed.To her surprise, the event was a huge success and when her husband showed up to lend his support, she felt like a million bucks. It gave Jen hope that they may be able to work things out. Evelyn arrived at Jen's event with 22-year-old Stephan as her date.They were the topic of the evening. Evelyn had one too many to drink and threw up in the men's bathroom. It was Royce's idea to round the girls up for some community service. Royce, Jen, Evelyn, and Suzie served the homeless at a soup kitchen called Camilla's House. The girls shared interesting conversation with some of the people they served.It was a life-changing experience. Evelyn hired a private investigator to try to get to the bottom of her stalker situation. Evelyn believed it may be a wife of another NBA player and is ready to prosecute when she finds out who it is.
