Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx is credited with saving the life of a suspected drunk driver.
The man suffered head, chest and neck injuries in a crash Monday in front of Foxx's home.
Foxx ran to the scene, pulling the man to safety before his car burst into flames.
The actor on Tuesday embraced the father of the man he pulled from a burning truck, likely saving his life.
"I think we all hope that we could do something when the time is there, but the question is, do we? Do we act, or do we fear for our own lives? And he did not," said Brad Kyle, the driver's father.
The Highway Patrol said 32-year-old Brett Kyle was speeding and driving under the influence when he swerved off the road, hitting a drainage ditch and causing his truck to flip several times. It came to a stop right in front of Foxx's hidden valley mansion and burst into flames.
"As I'm getting him out, I said, "You've got to help me get you out, because I don't want to have to leave you,'" Foxx said. "And I said, "You've got angels around you."
The Kyle family called Foxx a guardian angel. The Oscar-winning actor was humble about his heroic actions.
"I don't look at it as heroic," he said. "I just look at it, like, I just had to do something. And it all just worked out."
Foxx said another driver, who happened to be an EMT, also stopped to help. The two men were able to cut the seatbelt and pull the suspected drunk driver from the burning wreck.
Brad Kyle came to Foxx's home to see the scene of the accident. The actor brought him inside, showing him security video of the crash.
"I just kept watching it and going, 'My god, my god,'" Brad Kyle said. "He didn't have to do a thing."
