JAMIE FOXX: Explains Why His Anthem Performance Was "Off"

Jamie Foxx has explained why his performance of the national anthem was a "little off" before this weekend’s Mayweather - Pacquiao fight.

The comedian and singer was on Tuesday’s Ellen DeGeneres Show and acknowledged that "some people were a little upset by how it went down." Jamie explained that black performers like to add some soul to "The Star-Spangled Banner," but he had trouble hearing himself in the large arena.

The Grammy-winner told Ellen, “What happened in the ring, my [earpieces] came out. My inner ears were out, and I’m singing with an organ, so I can’t hear what the organ is doing with the big crowd."

He insisted "it killed" in the arena but admitted that the "telecast was a little off."
