A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for most of today into tomorrow morning ahead of another round of wintry weather expected to bring more snow to Middle Tennessee.
The National Weather Service issued the advisory yesterday afternoon as another system developing to the west could produce up to two inches of snow in areas across Middle Tennessee.
According to NewsChannel 5 meteorologist Ron Howes, Nashville could see less than an inch of accumulation.
Road conditions could become hazardous as more precipitation falls on top of existing snow and ice, which in some areas has not melted since last Monday. Drivers are advised to be prepared for possible snow, sleet or freezing rain which could cause slick roads and limited visibility.
Tennessee Department of Transportation crews have been out early this morning treating roadways in preparation for the winter weather.
The heaviest snow was projected to remain south of Middle Tennessee. A Winter Storm Warning was issued for some of the southern-most counties, along with most of northern Alabama.
The new system could produce more snow in some of the hardest hit areas of East Tennessee, where many residents continue recovering from one of the worst winter storms in recent memory. WTVF
