Is Barack OBAMA a dead Chimpanzee - The NY Post DEFENDS racist cartoon

Post Dismisses Cartoon Outcry
The New York Post is defending the cartoon it ran yesterday, which appears to likens President Obama to a monkey. The picture of two police officers shooting a monkey with a caption that reads, "They'll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill." A statement from the paper claims, "The cartoon is a clear parody of a current news event, to wit the shooting of a violent chimpanzee in Connecticut. It broadly mocks Washington's efforts to revive the economy." With regards to the Reverend Al Sharpton, who called the cartoon "troubling at best," the paper says, "Again, Al Sharpton reveals himself as nothing more than a publicity opportunist."

Wow. Is the Post trying to flip this and make it about AL SHAPRTON? Yes, Al does love the camera, however, you have yet to connect the pieces of your joke NY POST? We're waiting.............

Where is the punchline (hell, I like a good joke) and why is it that the only people that are laughing have "hoods and swastikas" in their possession?

Please elaborate on the joke NY POST

It is unfortunate that some people look to the New York Times and see these types of things as acceptable and mainstream. It continues to add to the hatred and racism that has so long choked progress and true harmony among the human race. I hate to think about how many people out there thought it was a "funny" cartoon. Sad.

"So my comment was directed towards his comments and not you."

And I quote is this not what you typed? Thus the reason for my comment letting you know that I was not talking to you...

Mahogany, I was not directing my comment at you.

This is a open forum, to voice our opinions and feelings about whatever the topic is. I heard him this morning on the radio, speaking about this graphic.......and how it made some people angry............

If ever I am making a comment to someone in a comment thread, I will include the name of the person that I am commenting to........

Calm down honey.................

There is absolutely nothing funny about this graphic. The New York Post has always released these types of cartoon ads about every political figure, but never at this magnitude, that I can recall. Ledonas is a bigot and "the Picasso of prejudice". It is amazing how these journalist and the media sources can just get away with these types of things. There are some more of his pitiful drawings from the past years...but like I said, just not of this magnitude.
And voicing our opinion on things we do not agree with doesn’t mean we are angry, I think it is good to speak and voice our opinions on these types of matters, this country is more than just about the politicians and celebrities, we all have some challenges that we have to deal with. This is just more ways to try and discredit this man’s character once again. Obama just needs to prove them all wrong by doing the right things in office.

I do not see anything funny about this at all. What does a violent chimp have to do with a stimilus bill? I feel that this was a racist joke against the President and they, them people have been giving him a hard time every since he got in office. Get over it, it is reality, he is the chief in command. Let him do his job.
