First it was Atlanta a few weeks ago. On Wednesday it was North Carolina that was virtually shut down due to icy roads, leaving thousands stranded or stuck in traffic for hours while trying to get home. If and when they reached their homes, it may not have been much better, as thousands of houses and business were left without power due to the storm.

The storm was so bad that the highly anticipated game college hoops game between Duke and North Carolina was put on postponed Wednesday night due to the storm.

This time around, Atlanta's roads were clear, as residents there had and heeded ample warning. But, it's not over yet. The storm could bring more than a foot of snow on Thursday to the mid-Atlantic and Northeast.

So far, there's been at least nine traffic deaths associated with the storm and more than 3,600 flight have been cancelled and with a similar amount of flights expected to be spiked on Thursday.
