How many of y’all went to the rewind fest this weekend? Or as I like to call it the C-Wiz show with special appearances? It was a lot of y’all out there. The weatherman predicted that it would rain and it actually rained for about 7 minutes and then we got to see a beautiful rainbow. Surely this was a sign as good things to come.

The first act took the stage around 6:20p which is not on time but as not that bad for CP time.

Soul 4 Real was more like Soul 3 Real, seeing that the group now only has 3 members. Having only three members was good in a way because they were able to dance on that small stage that was set up. The lead singer had a cup in his hand the whole time and we can only imagine what clear liquid was in that clear cup. Could have been water, and it also could have been some type of liquor. LOL! These men sounded nothing like themselves 15 years ago, and yes puberty was prolly a factor but they couldn’t even harmonize. And their last song was “Candy Rain”. And you’re thinking finally our favorite song from this group. But these folks decided to sing over a track that had vocals, like the 1990’s track. It sounded terrible.

C-Wiz comes back to the stage to keep the crowd hype. Good Job!

The host announces that Chubb Rock would not be performing. “What you mean?!?!?!?”

Michel’le comes to the stage. That woman is tiny. She told us her story, got the audience involved and reminded us of some of the tracks she sang on.  That girl can still sing. The crowd was so into her. She sounds just like she did way back when. And them boots she had on was some killers! Those are some homecoming boots.

C-wiz is back again, spinning. That man literally saved the show in my own personal opinion. *Shrugs*

Force MDs come to the stage. There were only 3 members in the group. They came out dancing getting the crowd hype. These brothers sounded great. The songs were mellow and it kind of mellowed out the crowd. And some people didn’t know a lot of the songs performed by the group. The members did do a small tribute to members of the group that has passed and to Michael Brown.

C-wizzy wiz again…………..

So when C-Wiz was really getting the crowd hype that cut him off saying that Cherelle was coming to the stage. And we waited…….and waited. Then the host announced it again that Cherelle was coming to the stage………….*crickets*……………. Then she comes flying up the steps, limping. But she did explain she fell the previous night and hurt her ankle. That’s when things started to get weird. Cherelle was more like a comedian than a singer. And it had the crowd wondering if she had taken a pain pill before hitting the stage. And of course her partner in crime, Alexander O’Neal, started singing from off of the stage. Everybody was so excited. So they did a duet and Cherelle left the stage.

Alexander O’Neal…………. He did perform songs that the crowd knew but the only reason the songs were recognized was because of the music. O’Neal had a lisp and was mumbling A LOT. And if you looked closely, the man didn’t have any teeth on the top row of his mouth. During his set he told the audience that “he wasn’t scared of them”.  Uh………………… that’s great. Cherelle came back to the stage and they performed “Saturday Love”

C-Wiz was back to the rescue, with his cape on spinning to save the show. HA!

Ready For The World Came Out and they rocked that stage. I mean they did the damn thing. There dancers were awesome and you can tell they had their stuff together. That was a good note to close the show on.

The show was a slight disappointment. They only had one tent for the VIP ticket holders to receive their drink tickets. Some of the drink tents didn’t have any chasers or change early on in the day. However, there are reports that the food was good.

It was a good event.  The announcement about Chubb Rock should have been made at the start of the show as I am sure they knew then he wasn't coming.   I though the comment C-Wiz made after Alexander O'Neil left the stage about crack kills was very inappropriate.  I also didn't like C-Wiz moving equipment while people were performing.   I think Ready For The World should have been billed that only one was ready because that was disappointing.  I was glad I got to hear my fav's but I was expecting the group and the dancers should not have been on the stage.   Force MDs had the best performance. I didn't try any of the food but agree the drink situation needs work.   Over all for the price I thought it was great.  I hope it was financially beneficial for the promoters as I would like to see this become an annual event on the Riverfront
