Grammy-winning producer takes on Hip Hop/Urban Radio

A Grammy award-winning songwriter is launching a national campaign to protest offensive lyrics in hip-hop music on the radio. Carvin Haggins has started an online petition and organized a protest outside Clear Channel urban “Power 99” WUSL in Philly on Saturday. He plans to stage similar rallies at urban station across the country. “It promotes gun violence, it promotes drug abuse, it promotes suicide and our kids are listening to this 24 hours a day,” Haggins tells KYW-TV.
