Mark Wattier, a college professor has decided to retire after being suspended by the school for allegedly making a racial remark to two black students who showed up late for class.

One student claims that when they finally showed up for class, Wattier said "It's OK, I expect it of you guys anyway." When asked for clarification, he answered, "The slaves never showed up on time, so their owners often lashed them for it."
