The final Twilight film broke through the competition and cruised to an easy box office victory over the weekend.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2 earned an estimated 141.3 million dollars in its debut weekend, a total that ranks eighth all-time. It's more than what Breaking Dawn -- Part 1 raised in its opening weekend last year, but just a shade less than what New Moon pulled in when it premiered in 2009.
Breaking Dawn -- Part 2 also raked in nearly 200 million dollars overseas.
Breaking Dawn -- Part 2 replaced the James Bond film Skyfall in the top spot. Skyfall fell to second place, collecting 41.5 million dollars.
Lincoln, which expanded into wide release Friday, finished third, with 21 million.
