Fatal Shooting Spree at Louisiana Theater

About 20 minutes into the 7:00 pm showing of the new comedy Trainwreck at the Grand Theater in Lafayette, Louisiana, last night, a gun-toting idiot stood up and began firing into the audience. The shooter, who later turned the weapon on himself, was described by a witness as "an older white male." She added, "He wasn't saying anything. I didn't hear anybody screaming either."

Confirmed reports have three dead, one of them the shooter, and nine others injured.

The film's star, Amy Schumer tweeted, "My heart is broken and all my thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Louisiana."

The dead attacker has been identified as 59-year-old John Houser of Alabama, described by authorities as a drifter with no known motive for the shooting.
