FATAL CHURCH SHOOTING: Nine Dead in South Carolina, Gunman Sought

Police are searching for the trigger-man who shot and killed nine people at a historic African-American church in downtown Charleston, South Carolina Wednesday night.

Charleston Mayor Joe Riley said, "We’re still gathering information so it’s not the time yet for details. I will say that this is an unspeakable and heartbreaking tragedy in this most historic church, an evil and hateful person took the lives of citizens who had come to worship and pray together."

The gunfire broke out at about 9 p.m. at the Emanuel AME Church.  Police were searching the area for the suspect assisted by helicopters. The suspect was described as a white male with a slender build, approximately 21-years-old, wearing a gray hoodie, jeans and Timberland boots. (The Post and Courier)
