EMPIRE: Jussie Smollett Signs Record Deal

Fans are used to seeing Jussie Smollett rap every week as Jamal Lyon on Empire. Now it seems life is about to imitate art, as the actor just signed a record deal in real life.

"There will be a Jussie Smollett album. I signed to Columbia." he recently told Entertainment Weekly. He's proud of his new home, too, "I'm label mates with Beyonce and Adele and Barbara Streisand" said the star whose current coworkers include Taraji P. Henson and Malik Yoba.

 The triple threat's been talking to Timbaland and Terrence Howard about helping out and says they're down. Despite that, he wants fans to know it'll be an entirely different beast than the drama where he shows his skills each week. (TheRoot)
