AP) NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Early primary voting is under way in Tennessee. Elections officials expect about half of all primary voters to cast their votes in the two-week early voting period before the Aug. 5 primary.
The vote will decide the Republican gubernatorial nominee from among Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam, Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey and U.S. Rep. Zach Wamp.
Haslam and Ramsey kicked off their day of campaign events with an appearance on drive-time morning radio in Memphis. Wamp was holding a campaign rally in his hometown of Chattanooga.
The primary will also determine who will match up for three of the state's nine congressional districts where the incumbents are retiring.
