DWIGHT HOWARD: Child Abuse Investigation

NBA star Dwight Howard is under investigation for child abuse after allegations brought by the mother of his son and even an admission by Howard himself.

Royce Reed, the mother of Howard's six-year-old son Braylon, went to Children's Services in Orlando back in August claiming the Houston Rockets star whipped the boy with a belt, leaving bruises and abrasions on his leg. Howard was interviewed and admitted to disciplining the boy with a belt, but said he didn't think there was anything wrong with it because that's how he was disciplined as a child.

A doctor who examined the boy concluded that his injuries show signs of abuse, however the Florida Department of Children and Family determined that although there is "credible evidence" of abuse, there isn't enough to warrant action. But it might be enough in Georgia, which is where the alleged abuse actually occurred. Police there have now opened a criminal investigation into the case, so Howard may not be out of the woods just yet. (TMZ)
