Americans are huggers . . . that's a scientific fact, and if you don't agree, I'm going to hug you into believing it. But do you have to check your hugs at the door at work?

A new survey asked people about whether they hug their coworkers . . . or even their clients. Here are the results . . .

10% of people say it's VERY common to hug a coworker if you know them well or it's been a while since you've seen them. 5% say that's cool with a client.

44% say it might be okay to hug a coworker, depending on the situation. 17% say that about a client.

And 45% say it's really not EVER appropriate to hug a coworker . . . 77% say it's rarely ever cool to hug a client.

The survey also compared these results with a similar survey five years ago. It turns out we've gotten MORE accepting of hugging coworkers . . . but slightly less accepting of hugging clients.
