Did India Aire "Lighten" Her Brown Skin...#HellNaw

Uh-oh -- India Arie might have contradicted herself on the cover of her new single (Kennyonline.NET says NO WAY!).

The Afro-centric artist, famously known for singing about her "Brown Skin," is seen looking extremely light-skinned on the cover of her new song -- which is ironically titled "Cocoa Butter."

Sources close to India tell TMZ that she never asked to be lightened -- it's simply a result of the camera flash and angle. But India had to approve the picture, so she certainly would have noticed that it's not an accurate reflection of her skin color.
