DC Students Walk Out In Protest of Teachers Being "allegedly" Fired Over Teaching Black History

Students at Howard University Middle School of Mathematics and Science in D.C. walked out of classes in protest Monday of the recent firings of instructors for allegedly teaching African-American history.

As ABC 7 News reported last week, parents of the charter school’s students have accused Principal Angelicque Blackmon of giving out pink slips to three teachers.

The three terminated were social studies teachers who were said to have implemented African-American history into their class curriculum.

Parents noted that the school bears the name of an historically black university–and the school’s student body is 90-percent African American.

The principal and the school have yet to respond to the allegations. WJLA
