Civil Rights honored at police conference in Baltimore...it's good to hear blacks are being honored for something!!! We moving up!

BALTIMORE --

Dorothy Height and Benjamin Hooks were among the civil rights icons honored Tuesday in downtown Baltimore.

The National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives held its 34th Annual Conference & Exhibition over the weekend. The organization awarded the posthumous honors at its civil rights breakfast Tuesday morning at the Baltimore Convention Center.

Height was a civil rights leader in the 1960s who died in April at age 98. She was among those standing with Martin Luther King Jr. during his "I Have A Dream" speech.

Also a civil rights leader, Hooks led the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People for 15 years. He died at age 85 in April.

Marc Morial, president and CEO of the National Urban League, and University of Maryland Professor Ron Waters also received honors.
