BREAKING: Shootout At Shelby Park...1 Person Dead

A shootout and car wreck near the Shelby Park Community Center tennis courts in East Nashville left one dead, one wounded and two on the run Tuesday evening.

Shortly after 5 p.m., two vehicles, each containing a man and a woman, pulled up in the parking lot adjacent to the tennis courts, according to Metro police spokesperson Don Aaron.

The victims were at least acquainted with the suspects, who got into the back seat of the victims' car.

"For reasons still under investigation, the parties in each vehicle engaged in a shootout," Aaron said.
