BISHOP EDDIE LONG'S WIFE WITHDRAWS HER DIVORCE WITHIN HOURS!! WOW!

Hours after announcing she had filed for divorce from megachurch pastor Bishop Eddie Long, his wife, Vanessa, issued a statement Friday saying she had withdrawn her petition.

Vanessa Long had issued a statement early Friday morning saying that she had filed for divorce Thursday from Long, the pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church.

By early afternoon, she had a change of heart.

"Upon prayerful reflection, I have reconsidered and plan to withdraw my petition for divorce from my husband, Bishop Eddie L. Long," she said in an emailed statement bearing the New Birth logo. "I love my husband. I believe in him and admire his strength and courage."

She went on to blame "years of attacks in the media" for her initial decision to seek a divorce.

It was a reversal of her statement Friday morning in which she said, "After a great deal of deliberation and prayer, I have decided to terminate my marriage to Bishop Eddie L. Long. Accordingly, I authorized my attorneys to file for divorce on December 1, 2011," Vanessa Long said in a statement.

I heard a sound bite this morning on Steve Harvey...Bishop Long announceed that he was taking some time off to spend with his wife and children. He added that his wife loves him and he loves his wife and he needed to spend time with his family. After he made that statement, he received a roaring round of applause from his congregation.  Guilty or innocent, marriage is hard enough w/out your business going viral.

Well according to various news sources, she plans to follow it through after all. Good for her, apparently she does know what's best for her at this point. Good luck to her.

to piggyback from MissTomma's dialogue -- I don't recall having heard/read  anything about the Long's marriage before this scandal.  Like you said, marriage ain't no Kim K sh*t....you fix it, you pray...and when it ain't fixable...you go. Everybody loves planning a wedding but what about the marriage? Marriage is hard enough w/out your problems going viral.

This sounds about normal..... making a decision to leave only to get sucked back in because of second thought, persuasion from the other person, someone else getting in your ear, financial, physical or emotional reasons, etc. etc. etc.. Besides people of faith are made up totally different from people who are not. They believe that trials and sufferings comes with the territory and that their tollerance is some sort of measure of faith that some how gets them through. To each his/her own, I just know that faith or not that isn't something that I would be able to deal with. Too many issues going on with that for me to be bothered. I'm a man, and if I betrayed my marriage and my faith to God the way that E. L. has, then let the punishment fit the crime and the chips fall where they may. It is truly sad that Mrs. Long has to endure this in the public eye but at the end of the day, it's her choice. It just wouldn't be me though, but then I believe that I'm strong enough to make better choices & not be in that situation to begin with.

Most women like the life style no matter what a man does. Can't bear being alone, as tolerating someones BS. Have your own no matter what. Dont keep waddling in the BS, Mud, and gutter.

@Bettye, maybe she's not desperate;  perhaps she's just a woman who decided to give it another try and we all have done it, only hers is public fodder.  From experience I can tell you real marriage ain't no Kim K shit, you put in the work and you fix it and pray about it until it's right and when it ain't fixable no more that's when you go.  Maybe this is their first rodeo.  Let me ask you this before this scandal had you ever heard anything about the state of the Long marriage? Not starting an argument just dialogue.

To me this seem like a desperate woman who wants to keep her man.  I truly hope she knows what she is doing.
