Beyonce has scheduled a series of four New York City shows to hype her new album, 4. Bey will play the album in its entirety at each of the shows, which take place at the 3000-capacity Roseland Ballroom Sunday, Tuesday, and next Thursday and Friday. Beyonce hasn't tipped her hand about guest performances, but since she's shown up for hubby Jay-Z's recent hometown gigs, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him make an appearance.
Tickets for the shows, incidentally, sold out within 22 seconds of going on sale yesterday at noon.
Beyonce's Four is the top-selling urban album this week, coming in at number-eight overall on sales of 34,000. The Slow Grind R&B compilation is at number-nine after moving 32,000 units. And Kelly Rowland's Here I Am drops 10 spots to number-13 in its first week out. That's it for the hip-hop nation in the Top 20.
Look for things to change next week when we see sales figures for Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne.
