Metro Police think the man they arrested Thursday for a kidnapping at an ATM on Charlotte Avenue is also the person who held up other Nashville ATMs.

Joshua Cartelli, 26, was taken into custody last week after allegedly kidnapping a person from the Regions Bank ATM on 5100 Charlotte and driving them to multiple ATMs to withdraw cash, according to a police statement. The victim said Cartelli approached him Thursday night at the Regions Bank and attempted to rob him at gunpoint. When the victim told him his checking account had been overdrawn, he was allegedly forced back into his own vehicle and told to drive to other banks to withdraw money.

After making the victim drive to Nolensville Pike, Cartelli left the car and drove away in a grey GMC Yukon, police said. He was arrested later that night once the victim told police what had happened.

Cartelli was arrested on charges of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Because of prior drug convictions, he is being held on $100,000 bond. Police are withholding his mug shot because they’re using it in lineups for another robbery at the same branch, plus one at the Fifth Third Bank on White Bridge Road.
